Alcohol: Not allowed. Juilliard is not one of the ten community parks where Santa Rosa City Code §13-24.050(A) permits drinking at set times, so §13-24.050(B) applies: possessing or drinking beer, wine or other alcohol is unlawful at any time unless you are an invited member of a group holding a Recreation & Parks permit (§13-24.060); the city says neighborhood-park alcohol permits are only for events open to the public. Glass beverage containers are banned in all city parks (§13-24.070). Concert-series beer and wine sales run under the event's own permit. Other: sunrise–sunset hours; smoking prohibited; leash dogs.

What the picnic area is like

A 9-acre downtown neighborhood park with a large lawn, scattered picnic tables, a playground and bocce courts, laid out in the 1930s with a stone footbridge, pond and walkway built from Kenwood quarry rock. Public art and a community garden round it out, and the Luther Burbank Home & Gardens is just across Santa Rosa Avenue.

About Juilliard Park

One of Santa Rosa's oldest parks, Juilliard occupies the former homestead of 19th-century winemaker Charles Juilliard, directly across the street from the Luther Burbank Home & Gardens. It is a handy free lunch stop downtown with lawn, tables and a playground, but it is alcohol-free unless you hold a permit.
