What the picnic area is like

A community park on Sebastopol's eastern edge, between the Community Center, the Youth Annex and the Laguna de Santa Rosa wetlands, with picnic areas beside two Little League ball fields. The Youth Annex lawn has a brick labyrinth, and the Peace Garden next to the Community Center hosts big annual events.

Tomodachi Park is a quiet, 8.7-acre City of Sebastopol park on the Laguna de Santa Rosa, just east of downtown, designed for passive use as part of the Laguna Preserve. It has picnic tables, barbecues, a short trail and native tree plantings, which makes it a peaceful spot for a picnic and some birding. There's no public restroom, and because the park sits in the 100-year floodplain, low areas can flood in wet winters.
