What the picnic area is like
A one-block town square of lawn under big, old shade trees (including a coast redwood planted in 1924), with a gazebo and a fountain. It's ringed by tasting rooms, bakeries and restaurants, so it works best for a blanket-on-the-grass picnic put together from downtown shops.

About Healdsburg Plaza (Plaza Park)
Healdsburg's leafy central square is the easiest wine-country picnic in the north county: shop the surrounding bakeries and delis, then spread a blanket on the lawn. It is also the one public park in this region where the City explicitly allows you to drink wine you brought, as long as it stays inside the park. Summer Tuesday evenings bring free concerts and food vendors.

Truett-Hurst left its creekside Dry Creek property in 2024 and now pours at a remodeled historic barn on Hudson Street, steps from downtown Healdsburg. Its FAQ allows outside food with a minimum wine purchase for groups of six or fewer; the old creekside chairs and farm animals are now at Aesthete Wines.
