About Rock Point (Sonoma Coast State Park)

A little-known picnic stop on Sonoma Coast State Park's headlands, a few minutes south of Duncan's Landing on Highway 1. State Parks' brochure names Rock Point among its picnic-table spots, and entry is free. There are no restrooms, so plan a stop at Portuguese Beach or Wright's Beach.

Bodega Dunes is the day-use picnic area in Sonoma Coast State Park about a mile north of Bodega Bay, with accessible picnic sites among the dunes behind a long sandy beach. Day use is $10 per vehicle, 8am to sunset. The dune boardwalk to the beach is permanently closed, dogs aren't allowed on the beach or dunes, and the surf isn't safe for swimming.
