Obey any signs posted on site. Barbecues at the group site; charcoal and wood fires are banned on Red Flag, high-wind and Spare the Air days. Leashed dogs in the picnic area and parking lot only, not on trails. No amplified music; no smoking or vaping.

What the picnic area is like

The picnic area sits at the park entrance: a patch of lawn and a small oak grove with a gazebo and barbecues, which escaped the 2017 Tubbs Fire. Behind it, former ranch roads climb into oak woodland and up to ridges looking out over the Santa Rosa Plain.

About Shiloh Ranch Regional Park

An 850-acre County park in the Mayacamas foothills on Windsor's southeast edge, known mostly for hiking and horseback riding. Its entrance picnic area, with lawn, oaks, a gazebo and barbecues, is a pleasant post-hike lunch spot or a group-party site, and alcohol isn't banned.

It's liveliest on summer Thursday concert nights with the farmers market.
